Dr. T A Balakumaran

Dr. T A Balakumaran is a Consultant Gastroenterologist, Hepatologist and Interventional Endoscopist currently based in Erode, Tamil Nadu. He has five years of clinical experience after completion of the DNB (Medical Gastroenterology) programme from Apollo Hospitals in Chennai.

After receiving the DNB title, Dr. Balakumaran worked for a year at Global Hospitals in Chennai as a Junior Consultant and subsequently as Consultant Gastroenterologist at KMCH Coimbatore for the next two years, before moving to Erode.

Dr. T A Balakumaran is trained in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic interventions and has thus far performed 40 ERCP procedures in Erode itself. He is experienced in managing various GI related disorders such as chronic diarrhoea, GI bleed, acute and chronic pancreatitis, inflammatory bowel disease, severe ulcerative colitis, and chronic liver diseases, including management of hepatitis B and hepatitis C that results in decompensated cirrhosis.
